"Untitled" follows the thread of Su-en Wong's work which parodies and pulverizes preconceptions of Asian women and female nudes. Her work examines her ongoing fascination with identity, socialization, fantasy, and the construction of culture. Wong challenges her viewer to morph between the gazer and the gazed-at, to reconsider their public and private personas, and to look with renewed appreciation at portraiture as a genre. Su-en Wong was born in 1973 in Singapore. She earned her MFA in 1997 from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and she currently lives and works in New York City.
