Junyong Wu studied engraving at the China Arts College in Hangzhou but has since chosen animation; a media format that is easily accessible for all. His work uses image, sound and text to paint a satirical picture of the surging wealth among many of China’s citizens.  He uses Flash Art to create a montage that resembles traditional Chinese opera and shadow puppetry void of narrative. Over the years Wu has collected many Chinese idioms for later use in his animations. Despite the potential differences in interpretation based on culture, Wu’s work has been shown and collected internationally.  He currently teaches at his alma mater.
