Sunflower, a large acrylic and polymer sculpture, was featured in the artist’s 2008 retrospective at Bard College titled Keith Edmier 1991-2007. The New York Times described the show as “personal history, captured in plastic” with a focus on the influence of his 1970s childhood, including a sculpture of Farrah Fawcett and a reproduction of his wood-paneled family room. His work is devotional and biographical yet also connected to larger historic events and shared memories of pop-culture.

Born in Chicago in 1967, Keith Edmier attended the California Institute of Arts, Valencia, in 1986.
