Charles Sandison’s constellations of flashing lights form words and figures that travel across walls, into corners, and out of doorways to fill previously dark spaces. “My technique,” he states, “consists in painting with light, time and basic elements.” Sandison’s 2009 Chamber, from the Denver Art Museum’s exhibition, Embrace!, engages people of all ages and illustrates the artist’s aim to transport the viewer to alternative ways of thinking.
