Instead of a distinct solid center square anchoring each block, Indiana Amish Log Cabin quilts often use a seemingly random variety of shapes and sizes. This creates a more modernist appearance that belies the underlying geometry. A closer look reveals a system to the piecing. Strong, solid colors are used throughout, but the pale blue diamonds lend an unexpected pastel note.
