Combining mathematics, technology, nature (in the form of electricity), and Buddhist philosophy, Tatsuo Miyajima creates immersive, near-hypnotic electronic environments. In "Floating Time (Marine Blue)", Miyajima projects the numerals 1 through 9 onto the floor, creating an ever-changing pattern of illuminated numbers. Zero never appears, as the artist believes it represents an end. Miyajima hopes the work will inspire thoughts on timeless harmony, reason, and intuition.
