This blue and white dish, recovered from the San Isidro shipwreck off the coast of Philippines, is a fine example of Zhangzhou ware exported from China during the late 1500s. The interior of this dish is decorated with leaves or branches enclosed by circular lines. The flared rim is decorated with a band of circular lines painted in cobalt blue. The short ring foot of this dish has residue of sand, a result of the firing process and a characteristic of Zhangzhou porcelains.
