Building on a strong academic art background as well as training in traditional weaving techniques, Jolanta Owidzka progressed to experimenting with weave structures, materials, textures, and colors. By the 1970s, her work had developed into wall hangings that resemble topographical maps. By juxtaposing different textures, Owidzka gives Psychotropic Lines a carved appearance that is enlivened by her choice of colors and use of unusual materials, such as copper wire.
