This large jar takes the form of a hunch-backed, pigeon-breasted figure supporting a small vessel atop the right shoulder. The jar has a flaring mouth, rounded neck, and broad, gently sloped shoulder. A ridge marks the juncture of the body and the rounded base. The rather simian, mask-like face is modeled in low relief on the vessel shoulder and lower neck. Engraved decoration includes an interlace band just above the ridge, and serrated rectangular motifs with curved projections on the vessel shoulder to either side of the face. A red line encircles the vessel above the interlace band; vertical columns of red dots rise up the body to the shoulder regions. ~ M. Young-Sanchez
