Nampeyo's early pottery in the Sikyatki Revival style is often a direct reference to the pots seen at excavation sites or in the collections of traders and ethnologists who presented prehistoric works to her that they wanted replicated. The "migration" motif used on this bowl can be linked to sketches made by Nampeyo's husband, Lesso, which are still used by descendants today.
