FAQ: Self-Led Journals on your Monet Field Trip

What is the Idea Book?

The Monet-inspired idea book supports students as they make connections between Claude Monet: the Truth of Nature and other exhibitions at the Denver Art Museum. It’s full of fun prompts and creative activities to help students explore a variety of artworks and artists during their visit. The idea books have space for kids to sketch and write while at the museum, and they can continue to add to the books back at school or at home.

Why Idea Books?

The idea books provide students and chaperones with a starting point for the self-led portion of their visit. It’s a self-paced, creative way to explore the museum galleries and build on the experience of the Monet exhibition.

Where can the Idea Book be used?

In any gallery other than Claude Monet: the Truth of Nature! With the idea book, chaperones and their small groups can find a spot near any artwork and use it as inspiration for nearly every prompt.

Why not use the Idea Book in Monet?

Idea Books aren’t used in Claude Monet: the Truth of Nature because there’s already so much to see and hear in the exhibition! We hope that kids and chaperones enjoy listening to the audio guide as they spend time viewing Monet’s paintings.

Our Monet-inspired idea book is created with studends grades k-8 in mind!
