The Denver Art Museum is the sole venue for Rembrandt: Painter as Printmaker, showcasing more than 100 prints plus several drawings and paintings from Rembrandt van Rijn’s career spanning from 1625 to 1665.

Beginning with studies of Oldenburg’s first and well-known monumental soft sculptures of the 1960s, Claes Oldenburg with Coosje van Bruggen: Drawings reveals a collaborative evolution of work that culminates with drafts of their large-scale hard sculptures of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The drawings represent the conception of an artistic idea, striking visual representations of manifested creations where line and form playfully intertwine the surreal and the natural elements of a landscape.

Ganesha: The Playful Protector is developed in collaboration with the National Museum of Cambodia in Phnom Penh, which is loaning a statue of Ganesha created in the 600s to 700s that is the centerpiece of the exhibition.

Dior: From Paris to the World surveys 70 years of the house of Dior’s enduring legacy and its global influence. A selection of more than 200 couture dresses, as well as accessories, costume jewelry, photographs, drawings, runway videos, and other archival material, will trace the history of the iconic haute couture fashion house, its founder, Christian Dior, and the subsequent artistic directors who carried Dior’s vision into the 21st century.

Eyes on: Julie Buffalohead uses metaphors, iconography, and storytelling narratives in her artwork to describe emotional and subversive American Indian cultural experiences, and often analyzes the commercialization of American Indian cultures.

Inspired by the natural world, Denver artist Nicole Anona Banowetz has created a larger-than-life, immersive "insect nursery" made from sewn inflatable sculptures and assembled forms. She says, “Forget that the work is art for a moment and have the sort of pure interaction you would have in nature.”
