Zurbarán and the Atlantic World

with Michael A. Brown, Ph.D.

Zurbarán was the most important religious painter of mid-seventeenth century Spain. He was also among the leading exporters of artwork to the Americas, and the travels and travails of these seafaring paintings make for some fascinating historical tales.

Michael A. Brown, Ph.D., is Curator of European Art at the San Diego Museum of Art.

Doors open at 5:30 pm with coffee, cookies, and conversation in the lobby of Sharp Auditorium, followed by the lecture at 6:30 pm.

Free for Alianza members and students with ID; tickets are $5 for all others.
