How do you see yourself? How do others see you?
With Jordan Casteel’s portraits as our inspiration, we'll explore these questions and our self-image through mindful movement sequences with Feldenkrais® practitioner Joan Pacos Jordan.
These gentle, meditative movements are designed to connect body and mind, helping you perceive unknown aspects of yourself. You’ll never look at art, or yourself, the same way again.
Please wear comfortable clothing. Participants may bring a yoga mat (there will be some available for use), and chairs will be provided.
Join us on a select Friday each month for Unplugged, a program that explores different ways to turn down the tempo and unwind.
With the galleries as the setting and artworks as inspiration, unplug through slow looking and conversation, physical movement, mindfulness meditation, or creative expression.
The Unplugged experience changes each month.
Adult programs are supported by William Randolph Hearst Endowment for Education Programs, Nancy Benson Education Endowment Fund, CenturyLink Endowment, James Kelley and Amie Knox Education Endowment Fund, and the citizens who support the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD).
