Uncorked Reserve, the Denver Art Museum’s annual spring fundraiser, brought museum patrons and friends together for an evening of art, wine and community on Friday, April 12, 2019.
The evening began with a cocktail reception and silent auction. Guests bid on limited edition artwork, exclusive experiences and fabulous luxury items, all in support of the museum’s mission. A wine country-inspired four course dinner by Epicurean catering, complete with exquisite wine pairings courtesy of Molly’s Spirits, was held under a tent on Martin Plaza.
Following the dinner, guests joined AFTERGLO, the museum’s annual late-night party, which was brimming with music and art activations.
The event was led by an enthusiastic committee and co-chaired by David and Kathryn Birnbaum, Janelle and Buck Blessing, and Christopher K. M. Leach and Chad Skrbina. Thanks to this enthusiastic support, both Uncorked Reserve and AFTERGLO sold out, raising significant funds for the museum’s groundbreaking exhibitions and programs. From ticket and table purchases to auction donations and sales, guests generously contributed in a range of ways.
With the Vision 2021 project well underway, there was much to celebrate at this very special Uncorked. Director Christoph Heinrich acknowledged attendees’ invaluable support of the expansion of the museum’s campus and renovation of the North Building.
In future years, Uncorked – as well as of the museum’s other signature events – will be held in these beautiful new spaces. Uncorked was the perfect moment to recognize all the progress that has been made towards this inspiring next chapter, and raise a glass (of amazing wine, of course) to a momentous year ahead.
