On May 9, 2019, museum patrons and members of Denver’s design community gathered for Luncheon by Design at the Four Seasons’ Grand Ballroom.
Guest speaker Alexandra Lange, renowned architecture critic and author of The Design of Childhood: How the Material World Shapes Independent Kids, spoke to attendees about playful design in post-war America. The subject aligned perfectly with the exhibition Serious Play: Design in Midcentury America, which is on view at the Denver Art Museum through August 25, 2019.
The event kicked off a momentous year for design at the DAM, with Director Christoph Heinrich and Curator Darrin Alfred sharing exciting developments for the forthcoming Architecture & Design galleries.
A very special thank you to co-chairs Rachelle Folsom, Len Keating, and Amanda J. Precourt, presenting sponsor Studio Como and media sponsor 5280 Home for their enthusiastic support of the 2019 Luncheon by Design.
