This spring, DAM Contemporaries celebrates artists speaking about their work with four fresh perspectives.
Phillip K. Smith, III, builds on explorations of the perception of light, color and space while creating physical and seemingly ephemeral sculptures.
His large-scale, temporary installations include internationally renowned Lucid Stead (2013) in Joshua Tree, California, and Reflection Field (2014) and Portals (2016), both of which debuted at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
With his participation in Desert X 2017, Smith continues to employ the purity of geometry and patterns in nature.
Doors open at 5:30 pm.
Free for DAM Contemporaries members and students with valid ID, $10 DAM volunteers, $15 DAM members, $20 nonmembers.
The Logan Lecture series is sponsored by Vicki and Kent Logan in affiliation with DAM Contemporaries, a DAM support group.
