UPDATE: The Denver Art Museum and Clyfford Still Museum regret to share that due to unexpected circumstances, Mark Bradford has postponed his trip to Denver. The museums are canceling the Logan Lecture with Bradford scheduled for Tuesday, May 30. When a new date is set, we will communicate details for the lecture. As a result, we are offering a full refund for lecture and simulcast tickets and will give lecture ticket holders the first opportunity to purchase tickets once a new date is set. Ticket holders will be receiving a phone call, but if we miss you, please call 720-913-0130 (10 am to 5 pm). We are very sorry for any inconvenience.
Mark Bradford compares his studio process with that of Clyfford Still: “What caught my eye was the insistence of his paintings. His surfaces were more raw and immediate than other abstract expressionist paintings.” Representing the U.S. in the 2017 Venice Biennale, Bradford joins us for the 100th Logan Lecture where he will speak about the two-venue exhibition Shade: Clyfford Still / Mark Bradford. The conversation will be led by the Denver Art Museum's curator of modern and contemporary art Rebecca Hart, and Clyfford Still Museum director, Dean Sobel.
