The Petrie Institute of Western American Art is pleased to announce its 13th annual symposium, Familiar Images: Icons of International Frontiers, on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
This year’s symposium will focus on the art of countries who share frontier histories with the American West, including Australia, South America, and Canada.
Four international scholars will explore representations of people, landscapes, and conflict from countries with similar visual traditions and colonial histories.
