The Shop at the Denver Art Museum now features a new selection of designs in the popular line of stationary cards from Art by Adelyn. You may remember Adelyn Wall from an earlier blog post. She is the young artist and founder of Art by Adelyn, a Colorado nonprofit organization benefitting the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
The incredible youngster, now eight years old, celebrated a huge accomplishment this summer. In June, Adelyn delivered a check for $2,000 to Children’s Hospital Colorado! She also took a tour of the NICU. Her mother, Anna, says it was, “a humbling, sad, thought-provoking and inspiring experience as Adelyn got to see first-hand little babies fighting for their lives.” Following the visit, Adelyn remarked that she felt so lucky to be healthy.
Adelyn has been working hard creating the new masterpieces featured in her fresh collection of stationary cards. Inspiration for one particular piece struck during a slumber party with her great-grandmother Susan Dillon, a 93-year old graduate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Whether Adelyn’s entering her pieces in art shows or giving art lessons to her siblings and neighborhood friends, she radiates artistic energy, spreading joy wherever she goes.
You can see some of Adelyn’s original art work in our North Building Shop as well as ten brand new stationary cards showcasing her most recent work. When you purchase Art by Adelyn cards, 100% of the profit goes to the NICU at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Note: You can encourage young artists with a variety of merchandise from The Shop: gifts, games, toys, puzzles, coloring books, magnetic frames, and art supplies.
