the Express Yourself sign at the top of the DAM's float

See the DAM in the Pride Parade

This year, the Denver Art Museum joins more than 200 other organizations in the CoorsLight Pridefest Parade. The theme of our float is "Express Yourself."

The design was inspired by the bright colors and patterns in La Musidora (the musical rocking chairs currently on the plaza in front of the museum) and Jeffrey Gibson: Like a Hammer. Our exhibitions crew used leftover paint from the exhibition Degas: A Passion for Perfection and the trailer bed actually has a wall from the exhibition. Check out the slideshow below for photos of our team building the float, and then come out and see the finished product.

Follow the museum on social media and look for the hashtags #PrideDAM and #ExpressYourself.

We hope to see you there, but if you can't make it, you can catch it via:

  • Television: The parade will be broadcast live on Denver Comcast channels 57/881HD and CenturyLink Channels 8009/8509HD.
  • Online: With the help of the Denver Open Media, The Center will be live-streaming the parade on our websites. You can tune in online at glbtcolorado.org/parade or denverpride.org/parade.
  • Radio: The parade will be broadcast live on 104.7LPFM.

Many thanks to IMS Printing & Signs for donating the signage and to the DAM support group, CultureHaus, which is marching with us!
