Denver Art Museum Celebrates 19 Years of Uncorked

2019 event to recreate California wine country on Martin Plaza

On Friday, April 12, the Denver Art Museum (DAM) will hold its 19th annual spring Uncorked fundraiser, an evening celebrating art, wine and community with two distinct events, Uncorked Reserve and Uncorked AFTERGLO.

In a special setting for this year only, Uncorked Reserve will transport guests to the California wine country with a Napa-themed dinner on the museum’s Martin Plaza, which will be transformed through art and live music.

Presented by UMB Bank, Griffis Residential and Molly’s Spirits with promotional support from Colorado Homes and Lifestyles Magazine, this event is chaired by Kathryn and David Birnbaum, Janelle and Buck Blessing, and Christopher K. M. Leach and Chad Skrbina and will provide crucial support for the museum’s exhibitions and programs.

The two-tiered evening begins with the Uncorked Reserve cocktail reception and silent auction in the Hamilton Building at 6 p.m. While enjoying creative cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, guests will be invited to bid on an impressive selection of high-end wines, extraordinary experiences and luxury items – with all proceeds benefiting the museum.

Art will be woven throughout the evening, from special one-night projects to a viewing of the DAM’s groundbreaking exhibition, Jordan Casteel: Returning the Gaze. At 7:30 p.m., guests will sit down to an inventive four-course dinner paired with exquisite wines.

At 9 p.m., the museum will come alive for Uncorked AFTERGLO, the annual after party attracting the next generation of art enthusiasts.

Sponsored in part by CultureHaus, the museum’s young philanthropist support group, AFTERGLO will be brimming with creative energy, music and interactive projects with local artists, plus specialty cocktails, wine tastings and treats with a late-night twist.

Admission to Uncorked AFTERGLO is included for Uncorked Reserve guests; a limited number of individual tickets can be purchased for $70 for DAM members and $80 for nonmembers at
