Museum Career—Educator

Heather Nielsen discusses her museum career as Master Teacher of Native Arts and New World art collections, and head of community and family programs. Hear about the creative and wide-ranging responsibilities of her job, and her belief in the importance of creating memorable and interactive experiences for visitors.

Kristina Mahoney is the manager of teacher and school outreach programs in the department of learning and engagement at the Denver Art Museum. Kristina has been at the DAM since 2010 and her favorite artwork (but who can really choose just one?!) that has been on view here is Still Men Out There, Bjorn Melhus. On a walk-through of the museum, she is always sure to stop by the panoramic window on level seven in the North Building–best view in the museum!
