The Month of Photography at the DAM

Month of Photography (MoP) is a biennial celebration of fine art photography in Denver and surrounding Front Range region. Galleries, museums, and arts organizations will be hosting a wide variety of exciting photography events: exhibitions, lectures, panel discussions, portfolio reviews, and more. Most will take place in the month of March but keep your eye out for related exhibitions and events around town in April as well. See a full calendar of MoP events.

Events at the Denver Art Museum

As part of MoP the Denver Art Museum photography department has organized a lecture series highlighting local photographers, Tom Finke (March 7), Susan Goldstein (March 12), and Evan Anderman (March 19). These three artists have been part of the Denver photography community for decades and each offers a different perspective and approach to the medium. Through documentary photography, photocollage, techniques of abstraction, the work of these three photographers ask us to consider how we interact with each other and the world around us. Each lecture will be followed by Q & A with the audience and a reception with the artist.

The photography collection galleries are currently under renovation, but come explore photographs included in Stampede: Animals in Art, on view through May 19, and in The Light Show (opening this summer). Both these exhibitions have photos, paintings, sculptures, and other artworks from throughout the DAM's collections.

You also can explore more than 1,000 photographs in our online collection.
