Join Us in Celebrating Our Volunteers During Volunteer Appreciation Week

The Denver Art Museum is thriving, and it is thanks to the more than 450 dedicated volunteers that we are moving forward every day. Our volunteers are the smiling face of the museum and collectively contribute over 40,000 hours of service every year in a variety of capacities. We think our volunteers are the heart of the DAM. They are an intelligent, enthusiastic, and friendly bunch that enrich the lives of our staff and visitors.

While we love and appreciate our volunteers every day, I always look forward to our annual volunteer appreciation event. It is such a wonderful opportunity to honor our volunteers for all of the tremendous contributions they have made.

In March, three outstanding volunteers—Nikki Tomkinson, Donna Winter, and Pam Whiteside (pictured above from left to right)—received the prestigious Cile Bach Award for outstanding service. This award is presented annually to a few volunteers who are nominated by their peers.

We also are so proud of our Docent and Flower Council volunteer, Sharon Rouse, for receiving the Channel 7 Everyday Hero award for her incredible volunteer service with the DAM and throughout the community. View the news segment.

Thank you to all of our Denver Art Museum volunteers! We couldn’t do it without you!

Rachel Sinclair is manager of volunteer services at the Denver Art Museum. Rachel has been at the DAM since 2010 and her favorite exhibition that has been on view here is the El Anatsui: When I Last Wrote to You about Africa in 2012.
