What to See & Do in November

November is packed with fun things to do at the Denver Art Museum!

Make a masterpiece (Now-January 6)

Step into the world of master printmaker Rembrandt van Rijn in the exhibition Rembrandt: Painter as Printmaker. Pick up an LCD drawing board and try recreating one of Rembrandt’s famous works, or get creative put a new spin on one of his prints.

Hear a story that brings art to life (Nov. 3)

Join us on Free First Saturday and listen to our cuentista (master storyteller) tell an exciting story about a piece of art at Cuentos del Arte. You’ll have two chances to hear her tale – at 11:30 am and 1 pm.

Immerse yourself in art (Opens Nov. 4)

Don’t miss The Incubation Effect, an interactive and immersive installation. Inspired by an insect nursery, local artist Nicole Banowetz’s installation will be filled with inflatable sculptures and assembled forms. Drop in and design your own creature then come back another day to see how the space evolves over time.

Catch a Performance (Nov. 11)

Where will our fox detectives be this month? On November 11, bring the whole family to the museum to help Foxy and Shmoxy solve an art mystery. You’ll have two chances to see the Foxes in action – at 10:30 and 11:30 am. To find Foxy and Shmoxy, pick up a letter from the Fox Box on level 1 and follow the riddle into the galleries.

Get hands on (Nov. 14)

Join us on November 14 from 10 am-1 pm for Create Playdate, an artmaking experience designed for 3-5 year olds and their grown-ups. This month we’ll be making our own autumn trees inspired by the changing colors of the season.

Dive into the glamorous world of Dior (Opens Nov. 19)

Dior: From Paris to the World opens on November 19, so be sure to check it out. Pick up a family audio guide and take a journey with Christian Dior’s sister Catherine to hear stories and insights about the dresses and looks. This exhibition is not included in general admission.

Stretch your creative muscles

Check out our Create-n-Takes and make your own masterpiece. At “Hold Your Horses” get inspired by all of the horse sculptures and create your own posable horse. Next, head over to “Home on the Range” to make a layered landscape inspired by Theodore Waddell’s Motherwell’s Angus. Create-n-Takes are open from 10:30 am-4 pm on weekends and all week during Fall Break.

Bring the whole Family for Fall Break (Nov. 19-25)

Fall Break is the perfect time to try out all of our family offerings. The Create-n-Takes and Print Studio will be open daily and are included in general admission, which is always free for youth 18 and younger.
