Egypt 3D: Secrets of the Mummies

Every 30 minutes, starting Tuesday, June 29, 11:00 am

Hamilton Building, Lower Level

Egypt 3D: Secrets of the Mummies follows researchers and explorers as they piece together archaeological and genetic clues about Egyptian mummies. Ancient relics and bodies create a window into the fascinating and mysterious world of the pharaohs, illuminating the culture, religion, medicine, and daily life in Egypt thousands of years ago.

Unwrapping the secrets of the mummies may provide a glimpse into our own civilization’s future. By reconstructing mummy DNA and deciphering ancient texts, scientists hope to gain insight into modern human genetics and advance medical treatments—perhaps even uncovering a cure for malaria.

Narrated by Christopher Lee.

Film tickets are $5 and can be purchased with your King Tut tickets or separately at a museum welcome center. A King Tut exhibition ticket is not required to see the film.

Screenings begin at 11 am daily in Sharp Auditorium, with showings every half hour. The film will not be screened on September 24 and 25; November 12 and 13; and January 4, 6, and 8. On December 2, the final showing of the day will be at 2 pm.
