Conversation Lounge: Ancient Aromatics

Experience the sights, tastes, feels, and aromas of life during the reign of the Boy King. Join us Wednesday Nights in September for a chat with individuals whose passions and expertise for all things ancient is contagious.

Imagine the aromas that were part of everyday life on the Nile and spend an evening exploring the scents and smells of Ancient Egypt through modern recreations. Perfumer and aromatherapist Dawn Spencer Hurwitz takes you on a sniffing expedition of ancient Egypt. Along the way she will reveal her methods for recreating the timeless perfumes. Sample fragrances of the raw materials that were prevalent in these early scents, and soak up the many functions that Egyptian perfumes served.

$12 for DAM members and students; $14 general public

Series registration, including all four conversations in The Senses of King Tut, is $45 for DAM members and students; $48 for others.
