Tactile Tables

Tactile Tables provide an opportunity to experience art in a hands-on way. These tables are free with admission and are open to all visitors who desire a multisensory, hands-on experience with art, including those visitors who are blind and low vision.

Tactile Tables are offered on the second Friday and Saturday of every other month (February, April, June, August, October, December). Tactile Tables are located in a different gallery of the museum each session, and are facilitated by specially trained docents.

    Tactile Tables: American Indian and Northwest Coast Art

    Beginning on June 9, 2017 10:00am–1:00pm this will occur every day through June 10, 2017.

    Get hands on with art! This June we will feature objects from the American Indian and Northwest Coast galleries, where visitors are invited to try on a button blanket from Northwest Coast tribes and handle a model of the monumental Mud Woman Rolls On.

    Tactile Tables are regularly scheduled, bimonthly opportunities to experience art in a hands-on way with facilitation by specially trained docents.
