A Walk in the Woods
Animal-Themed Artmaking Activities
Opens December 3, 2017
A Walk in the Woods is a new family space that will be located in the Hamilton Building, level 3. Included with general admission (free for kids and free for members).
Step into the forest and experience new animal-inspired activities created to celebrate the exhibition Stampede: Animals in Art.
Build with Branches
Build freestanding horse sculptures inspired by artist Deborah Butterfield. What other animals can you create out of branch-like blocks?
Pick up a pair of binoculars and be the first to spot different birds in a colorful flock. Play alone, or challenge a friend.
Mix-and-match ears, wings, stripes, and tails to create unique animals. Use your imagination to bring these new creatures to life. How might they move, sound, or behave?
Put together a shadowbox to display all your favorite animals. Choose from the animal cards provided, or draw your own to add to your mini-menagerie!
