“Believe it or not, I can actually draw.” – Jean-Michel Basquiat

Jean-Michel Basquiat started his career as a graffiti artist in the 1970s and quickly evolved into an accomplished Neo-expressionist painter by the 80s. Critics celebrated his work’s originality, emotional depth, and unique iconography. Although his career was brief, he is considered one of the most influential artists of the late 20th century.
