Nampeyo lost her eyesight as she aged and by 1920 was nearly blind. The artist continued to shape her vessels, creating the elegant forms for which she had become known. Daughters Annie or Fannie would paint the pots, sticking closely to family patterns such as the "bat-wing" designs shown here.
