Since its founding in 1990, Design Council has been an enthusiastic partner in enriching the Denver Art Museum’s department of architecture, design, and graphics. The council is one of the DAM's support groups and is an alliance of over 150 design professionals, patrons, and others whose mission is to enhance the awareness and appreciation of design by making it accessible to a wider audience. Through a broad range of programs and events, including lectures and panel discussions, studio visits, architectural tours, and special previews of exhibitions such as Pattern Play: The Contemporary Designs of Jacqueline Groag and Design Lab: Three Studios, the council provides unique opportunities for the members to engage leading professionals in various design disciplines.

Design After Dark
Since its debut in 2005, Design After Dark has become one of Denver’s most diverse and dynamic celebrations of Colorado’s creative community. Emerging and established architects and designers, as well as a wide range of Colorado creatives, construct innovative one-of-a-kind objects to be auctioned off during the night. An array of themed-food and drink is served to an aesthetically inclined crowd, while an unforgettable setting amuses those enjoying the art and the entertainment. This uniquely fashionable event benefits the DAM’s department of architecture, design, and graphics.
Luncheon by Design
Each May guests of Luncheon by Design enjoy a lively presentation and lunch benefitting the DAM’s department of architecture, design and graphics. Past presentations have included: “The Legendary Collection of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé” by Catherine Elkies of Christie’s, “The Art of Fashion: A View from the Front Row and Beyond” by Ken Downing, Senior Vice President and Fashion Director for Neiman Marcus, and “The Secret of Silk Scarf Printing” by Hermès craftsmen from the ateliers in Lyon, France.
