Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism

June 13, 2008–September 7, 2008

Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism features 40 works of art from 19th and 20th century European and American artists including Claude Monet, Eugene Boudin, Frederick Childe Hassam, and John Singer Sargent.

The Impressionists' dramatic use of color, light, brushwork, and composition revolutionized the way that life and art are perceived and ushered in a new era of artistry. View some of the earliest paintings of the cutting-edge movement that transformed the art world, including Charles Daubigny’s The River Seine at Mantes, Gustave Courbet’s Isolated Rock, and Henri-Joseph Harpignies A Meadow in the Bourbonnais, Morning.
