Martin Plaza

La Musidora is a combination of the Spanish words "la música" (music) and "la mecedora" (rocking chair). Take part in this interactive outdoor art installation located on Martin Plaza near the museum's Hamilton Building entrance. Make musical sounds by gently rocking colorfully woven chairs in tandem. This 90-foot artwork seats a total of 20 visitors at a time.

This summer experience is designed by Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena of the interdisciplinary design firm Esrawe + Cadena in Mexico City.

La Musidora is generously funded by the PB and K Family Foundation. Promotional support is provided by the Mexican Cultural Center.

Admisión gratuita.

La Musidora es una combinación de las palabras “la música” y “la mecedora.” Participa en esta instalación de arte interactiva al aire libre ubicada en la Plaza Martin cerca de la entrada al museo del Edificio Hamilton. Mézase suavemente en las vibrantes sillas tejidas para crear sonidos musicales en conjunto.

Esta obra de arte de 27 metros puede acomodar a 20 personas sentadas. Esta experiencia de verano fue diseñada por Esrawe + Cadena, una agencia interdisciplinaria de diseño en la Ciudad de México dirigida por Héctor Esrawe e Ignacio Cadena.

La Musidora está patrocinada generosamente por la fundación PB and K Family Foundation. El Centro Cultural Mexicano ha brindado apoyo promocional.
