Winter Break at the Denver Art Museum means fun for the whole family! Join in French-inspired activities with artist demonstrations, artmaking in the galleries, and other surprises throughout the break. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a guest at the French Court in 1700 for an elegant ball? Well, journey back in time to France when exquisite luxury was all the rage.
On December 28, greet your fellow guests in French sayings of the time, make your own powdered wigs, French collars and cuffs and decorate your fans in the French style of the king’s court. Then learn basic French court dances from a dance master and wear your creations to participate in grand group dance performance. We will also have a special in-gallery theater experience in collaboration with Buntport Theatre Company. Help Collette, the narrator from the family audio guide in our Court to Café exhibition find her lost painting! Find a short video with more details about the exciting day in a recent blog post.
The studios, Create-n-Takes, and Family Activity Cart will be open every day.
Kids 18 and younger receive free general admission during Winter Break.
No reservations needed.
