Design Council of the Denver Art Museum is pleased to host the exclusive presentation, Carl Fabergé and His International Clientèle, by special guest speaker, Dr. Géza von Habsburg, the world’s leading expert on Fabergé.
Dr. von Habsburg will present a gorgeous visual tour of Fabergé and its most prominent clients from around the world. Founded in St. Petersburg in 1842 by Gustav Fabergé, Fabergé is a storied name in jewelry renowned for their exquisite use of gemstones, color, and enamel. Fabergé’s extraordinary jewels and lavish Imperial Easter eggs attracted the Imperial Court of Russia, the kings of Sweden and Norway, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, among other nobility, tycoons, and artistic intelligentsia from St. Petersburg, Moscow, London, and Paris to the Far East.
As Fabergé Curatorial Director, Dr. Géza von Habsburg has organized numerous exhibitions worldwide, including Fabergé Imperial Court Jeweler and Fabergé in America which opened at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and traveled to San Francisco, Richmond, New Orleans, and Cleveland, with over 1 million visitors worldwide.
