Mark Bradford compares his studio process with that of Clyfford Still: “What caught my eye was the insistence of his paintings. His surfaces were more raw and immediate than other abstract expressionist paintings.” Representing the U.S. in the 2017 Venice Biennale, Bradford joins us for the 100th Logan Lecture where he will speak about the two-venue exhibition Shade: Clyfford Still / Mark Bradford.
The conversation will be led by the Denver Art Museum's curator of modern and contemporary art Rebecca Hart, and Clyfford Still Museum director, Dean Sobel.
Tickets are $8 museum volunteers; $12 artists; $15 DAM and CSM members; $18 nonmembers; DAMC members, Friends of Clyfford Still members, and students are free with valid student ID (student must present valid student ID the night of the lecture).
