A Little Scratch Never Hurt a Good Picture: Collecting, Connoisseurship and Conservation

Friday, July 11, 2014 - 6:00pm9:00pm
Hamilton Building
Free admission, members only.

Join Denver Art Museum (DAM) photography curator Eric Paddock and Silber Director of Conservation Sarah Melching for a discussion of behind-the-scenes practices at the DAM. They will discuss what happens to a piece of art when it enters the museum's collection and the various challenges that can occur during the "lifecycle" of an artwork.

After the presentation and discussion, we will head over to Cap City (1247 Bannock St.) to converse and enjoy libations. Cap City will be offering specials to all event attendees.

This event is limited to CultureHaus and Cross-Cultured members, as well as DAM Museum Associates. Admission to the program is free for those members; DAM admission is not included and will be $10 at the door for those who are not members of the DAM.

Sponsored by CultureHaus, a DAM support group, in collaboration with Cross-Cultured.
