Art & About tours are designed for visitors with early-stage Alzheimer's or dementia and their care partners. Experience and discuss art together on a tour led by a specially trained guide on the second Thursday of the month. Themes change every month.
Tour and general admission to the museum are free for registered participants, but space is limited. Meet on the lower level of the Hamilton Building.
August 10: Music to Our Ears
This month we'll explore the interactive, musically-inspired, and communal installation, La Musidora, out on the Martin Plaza. Working together, we'll weave connections and create a collective musical experience. Reservations will be accepted starting August 1.
September 14: Home
Together we'll discuss and explore themes of place, home, and identity as we visit the special exhibition Mi Tierra: Contemporary Artists Explore Place. Reservations will be accepted starting September 1.
October 12: Animals in Art
This month we'll explore the role of animals in art throughout history and across time, and discover how artists use animals in imaginative ways. Reservations will be accepted starting October 1.
