Art & About tours are designed for visitors with early-stage Alzheimer's or dementia and their care partners. Experience and discuss art together on a tour led by a specially trained guide on the second Thursday of the month. Themes change every month.
Meet in North Building, Level 2, Duncan Pavilion. Tour and general admission to the museum are free for registered participants, but space is limited.
April 13: All That Glitters
This month we’re on a gold rush! Join us as we discover the fascinating story of people and luxury possessions found in the paintings from our Spanish Colonial collection. Reservations will be accepted starting April 1.
May 11: All in the Family
This month we will discuss the importance of family and community identity, taking cues from artworks found in our American Indian collection. Reservations will be accepted starting May 1.
June 8: It’s All in the Details
This month we'll explore the beautiful details found in contemporary American artist Mark Bradford's abstract paintings and examine what emotions these details evoke. Reservations will be accepted starting June 1.
