Meet Colorado Artists at The Shop's Mother's Day Jewelry Show

In celebration of Mother’s Day, The Shop at the Denver Art Museum will host a Jewelry and Handbag Trunk Show. On Friday, May 9–Sunday, May 11, from noon–5 pm, visitors to The Shop can meet local artisans while getting an exclusive look at their latest designs. These Colorado-based artists will be on hand to answer questions and to help you pick out the perfect gift for mom—or for yourself.

Friday, May 9, noon5 pm

Featured Artist: Maruca

Made in Boulder, Maruca purses, slings, and bags are crafted from a globally inspired and eclectic selection of jacquard fabrics. Founder Rex Maruca believes in creating small production runs for their bags resulting in unique and stylish gifts for women of all ages. A representative from Maruca will be present showing off the latest spring fabrics and designs.

Saturday, May 10, noon5pm

Featured Artist: Franki Morales (Out of My Hands)

Franki Morales’ Out of My Hands jewelry is as colorful and unforgettable as the artist herself. Brightly colored stones, vintage settings, and found objects are just some of the items she uses in her necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Morales’ “craftswomanship” is inspired by allowing herself to achieve a meditative state. The work then is truly out of her hands and her collection of jewelry is nothing short of divine.

Sunday, May 11, noon5pm

Featured Artist: Pattie Parkhurst

Pattie Parkhurst is a contemporary Colorado jewelry artist with techniques rooted in the past. Parkhurst fell in love with the ancient process of anticlastic raising, which she employs in her eye-catching line of rings, chokers, and cuffs. Parkhurst’s appreciation of nature can be seen in her use of raw gems and botanical-shaped metals. Her color palate and design aesthetic is sure to impress the most stylish mom on your list.
