Museum Career—Conservator

In this video, the Denver Art Museum's senior objects conservator, Gina Laurin, reveals her career path and the special skills involved with being a conservator. Gina discusses how she collaborates with fellow conservators and other museum staff to make sure objects are preserved, cleaned, and presented properly.

Kristina Mahoney is the manager of teacher and school outreach programs in the department of learning and engagement at the Denver Art Museum. Kristina has been at the DAM since 2010 and her favorite artwork (but who can really choose just one?!) that has been on view here is Still Men Out There, Bjorn Melhus. On a walk-through of the museum, she is always sure to stop by the panoramic window on level seven in the North Building–best view in the museum!
