Mark Bradford

Denver's Connection to the 2017 Venice Biennale Art Exhibition

Started in 1895 and held in Venice every two years, La Biennale di Venezia is considered one of the most important art exhibitions in the world. The 57th edition is May 13-November 26, 2017, and will feature American abstract artist Mark Bradford at the United States pavilion. If you can't make it to Venice, never fear. You can see some of Bradford's latest works in Shade: Clyfford Still/Mark Bradford April 9-July 16, 2017 at the Denver Art Museum. This two-venue exhibition also features 18 paintings by Clyfford Still selected in collaboration with Bradford at the Clyfford Still Museum. The selection reveals Bradford's appreciation for Still's frequent use of black.
Shade at both venues is included with general admission, which is free for DAM and Clyfford Still Museum members. Your general admission receipt will allow you to visit the presentation at the DAM and at CSM during the run of this exhibition. Image: Mark Bradford © Courtesy the artist and Hauser & Wirth.
